Fire
The Clinging
Fire has no definite form
but clings to the burning object
and thus is bright.
As water pours down from heaven,
so fire flames up from the earth.
Everything that gives light is dependent on something
to which it clings,
in order that it may continue to shine.
The great man (Our One Heart) continues
the work of nature in the human world.
..makes himself dependent
upon the harmonious and beneficent
forces of the cosmos,
he achieves success.
- The Clinging.
Perseverance furthers.
It brings success.
Care of the cow brings good fortune. -
Clinging means resting on something.
Sun and moon cling to heaven.
Grain, plants, and trees cling to the soil.
Doubled clarity,
clinging to what is right,
transforms the world and perfects it.
The plant world owes its life to the fact
that it clings to the soil,
in which the forces of life express themselves.
On the other hand,
bodies are likewise needed,
that the forces of light and of life
may find expression in them.
It is the same in the life of man.
In order that his psychic nature may be transfigured
and attain influence on earth,
it must cling to the forces of spiritual life.
The yielding element in Li is
the central line of the Receptive,
hence the image of the strong but docile cow.
I Ching or book of changes, Richard Wilhelm translation

One holy book
"There is One Holy Book, the sacred manuscript of nature, the only scripture which can enlighten the reader."
"Most people consider as sacred scriptures only certain books or scrolls written by the hand of man, and carefully preserved as holy, to be handed down to posterity as divine revelation. Men have fought and disputed over the authenticity of these books, have refused to accept any other book of similar character, and, clinging thus to the book and losing the sense of it, have formed diverse sects."
(...) (but it´s) "nature, the only Holy Book, the perfect and living model that teaches the inner law of life: all scriptures before nature's manuscript are as little pools of water before the ocean. To the eye of the seer every leaf of the tree is a page of the holy book that contains divine revelation, and he is inspired every moment of his life by constantly reading and understanding the holy script of nature. When man writes, he inscribes characters upon rock, leaf, paper, wood, or steel. When God writes, the characters He writes are living creatures."

Through the wind and the rain, the sun and the moon, the stars and the clouds, the green grass, the hills, the mountains and the valleys, the rivers and the ocean, the trees, the flowers, the lion and the lamb..; your body and the stone you hold in your hand; through your neighbour, the food that you eat, and much more to come, sumed up in earth, wind, fire and water...everything that you may embrace tenderly.
Then he said: Let us understand all these things already today. And we begun...

I remember the ear... listening is regarded as a yin quality that goes into the deep..coming from intuition. The form of an ear shows this. On the other hand, seeing is a yang quality, steming from the analytic left brain side; seeing remains on the surface...read this in a book which impressed me: "The World Is Sound: Nada Brahma: Music and the Landscape of Consciousness" by Joachim-Ernst Berendt; he also wrote the new man will be a listening man, more than a seeing one...

Component of healing
"Apatheia is a Greek word that means, literally, nonsuffering. …
[A]pathy is the inability or refusal to experience pain. What is the pain we feel—and desperately try not to feel—in this planet-time? …[I]t pertains not just to privations of wealth, health, reputation, or loved ones, but also to losses so vast we can hardly name them. …That pain is the price of consciousness in a threatened and suffering world. It is not only natural, it is an absolutely necessary component of our collective healing. As in all organisms, pain has a purpose: it is a warning signal, designed to trigger remedial action. The problem, therefore, lies not with our pain for the world, but in our repression of it. Our efforts to dodge or dull it surrender us to futility—or in systems’ terms, cut the feedback loop and block effective response"

By unfoldment of heart
"The facts can be put into words but not the truth, for God is truth, the soul is truth, the real self of man is truth."
"We generally confuse truth with fact, and we often use the word fact for truth. When we look at it from the mystic's point of view we find that words are too intricate ever to explain what is truth. ... Truth is that which cannot be pointed out, because all things that can be compared have their opposite, but neither God nor truth has an opposite. Names are to point out forms, and words are to distinguish one thing from another, while definitions come from the pairs of opposites or at least from differences. That which is all-pervading and is in all things and beings, that which every word explains and yet no word can explain, is God and is truth."
(...) "And truth can neither be studied nor taught nor learned; it is to be touched, it is to be realized; and it can be realized by the unfoldment of the heart."
Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan
